Chapter 2.12 EMPLOYEES’ VACATIONS AND HOLIDAYS
2.12.050 Holidays designated.
(a) All offices shall be closed and all regular employees shall not be
required to work on the following recognized holidays: New Year’s Day,
Elections Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day,
Thanksgiving Day, the Friday after Thanksgiving Day, the day before Christmas,
and Christmas Day; provided, that Sections 2.12.020 through 2.12.070 of this
chapter shall not apply to those employees of the town, who by reason of their
essential duties such as police, fire, water treatment or sanitation are
scheduled to work on such holidays.
(b) If any of the designated holidays
falls on a Saturday, the holiday will be observed on the preceding Friday,
except for Christmas Day, which if it falls on a Saturday, will be observed the
following Monday. If any of the designated holidays falls on a Sunday, the
holiday will be observed on the following Monday, except for the day before
Christmas, which if it falls on a Sunday, will be observed on the preceding
