2.12.090 Floating holiday for perfect attendance.

(a) Beginning January 1, 2001, each full-time town employee, except for police department employees under the jurisdiction of the police commission, who has perfect attendance for the next six months will be entitled to a paid floating holiday, to be exercised within the next six months following, at a time to be arranged in advance with the employee’s supervisor. A department head’s supervisor shall be the town council liaison to that department. If the employee who is eligible for a floating holiday fails to take the holiday in the six months following the six months of perfect attendance, the holiday will be lost and not compensated for. An employee who misses work because of sickness, accident, an excused absence, being late for work, leaving work early, or for any reason other than a recognized holiday, a previously scheduled vacation or compensated personal day, or a previously authorized and compensated leave for bereavement or funeral leave, jury duty and witness duty or military leave, shall not be credited with perfect attendance for that six-month period.
(b) Each six-month period beginning on January 1, 2001 and on July 1st and January 1st of each six-month period thereafter shall constitute a new period for determining perfect attendance. An employee must be on the payroll for the entire six-month period in order to qualify for perfect attendance during that six-month period. (Ord. 934 §1, 2000).
