5.16.030 Prerequisites for applicants.

Each applicant for a taxicab driver’s license shall have attained the age of twenty-one years, shall have good eyesight and hearing and must not be subject to epilepsy, vertigo, heart trouble, or any other infirmity of body or mind which might render him unfit to safely operate a public vehicle, he shall be able to speak, read and write the English language, be clean in dress and person, and be of good moral character; he shall not be addicted to the use of intoxicating liquors or narcotics. The applicant shall submit proof that he has undergone a recent physical examination by a licensed physician, and that the examination did not reveal any of the foregoing conditions or diseases. The applicant shall also submit such other evidence as the board of trustees may reasonably require. (Ord. 382 § 3, 1966).
