From and after the effective date of the ordinance codified in this chapter, it is unlawful for any corporation, person or individual to engage or to solicit or induce another to engage in any lottery, pool, bookmaking, policy or numbers game, or any other enterprise wherein any money, credit, deposit or other thing of value is risked for gain contingent in whole or in part upon lot or chance.
