Chapter 9.56 SMOKING IN THEATERS AND CONCERT HALLS
9.56.020 Definitions.
(a) “Theater” or “concert hall” means any place of
assembly where motion pictures are shown in an area that will accommodate one
hundred or more persons in fixed seats or where a stage is used by a performing
individual or individuals to entertain in an area that will accommodate one
hundred or more persons in fixed seats.
(b) “Foyer” means the
space at the back of the assembly seating area between the last section of seats
and the lobby.
(c) “Stage” means a partially enclosed portion of
an assembly area which is designed or used for the presentation of plays,
demonstrations or other entertainment wherein scenery, drops or other effects
may be installed or used.
(d) “Smoking” means and includes the
carrying of a lighted pipe, cigar, cigarette, or tobacco in any form. (Ord. 483
§ 2, 1972).
