Chapter 10.24 MISCELLANEOUS VIOLATIONS
10.24.030 Miscellaneous unlawful actions.
In addition to the actions which are declared to be illegal and unlawful
by other provisions of this title, the following actions are declared illegal
and unlawful:
(1) Disobeying the order, signal or sign of a police officer
regulating or directing traffic on streets or
highways or parts thereof which
are not part of the route of the state highway or disobeying a traffic-control
signal regulating such traffic;
(2) Failing to stop before entering a street
designated as preferential by Chapter 10.08;
(3) Breaking through or driving
through a funeral procession or any other authorized procession;
(4) It
shall be unlawful for any person to drive any wagon, motorcycle, motor vehicle
or any animal upon, over or across any curb, sidewalk or grassplot on any street
in the town, except upon a driveway constructed over the same, or as otherwise
permitted by this Code or by a permit therefor from the town.
(5) It shall
be unlawful for nay person to operate a golf cart, all terrain vehicle (ATV),
snowmobile, pedal cab or any similar vehicle on the streets of the
town.
(6) It shall be unlawful for any person to operate a golf cart, all
terrain vehicle (ATV), snowmobile, pedal cab or any similar vehicle on the
streets of the town for the purpose of transporting persons, goods, materials
and supplies to/from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway whether the vehicle is
licensed or not.
(7) Any police officer, upon discovering any golf cart, all
terrain vehicle (ATV), snowmobile, pedal cab or any similar vehicle on the
streets of the town in violation of this section, may remove such golf cart, all
terrain vehicle (ATV), snowmobile, pedal cab or any similar vehicle or cause to
be removed to any town-owned property or to a private garage or place so
authorized by contract, where the golf cart, all terrain vehicle (ATV),
snowmobile, pedal cab or any similar vehicle shall be impounded and retained,
and shall be released only after payment of a fee for towing and storage of the
vehicle. The fee for towing and storing a vehicle pursuant to this section
shall not exceed the amount which is normally and customarily charged for that
service, to which may be added reasonable storage charges to commence on the
date that the golf cart, all terrain vehicle (ATV), snowmobile, pedal cab or any
similar vehicle is impounded.
(8) Such vehicles belonging to police, fire or
emergency medical services shall be exempt. (Ord. 969 § 1, 2002; Ord. 886,
