A bureau of fire prevention in the fire department of the town is established which shall be operated under the supervision of the chief of the fire department.

The chief of the fire department shall designate an officer (or member) of the fire department as chief inspector of the bureau of fire prevention, who shall hold this office at the pleasure of the chief of the fire department.

All other members of the fire department shall be assistant inspectors and, as such, officers of the bureau of fire prevention. (Ord. 442 § 2, 1970).
